The Adrenal Stress Index is a non-invasive salivary test which evaluates adrenal function and fluctuations in the circadian rhythm of the stress hormones Cortisol and DHEA (Dehydro-epiandrosterone). These steroid hormones assist the body to manage stress, influence metabolism and thyroid function. Imbalances in these hormones can indicate an inappropriate response to stress and can result in a wide range of symptoms ranging from low energy to recurrent infections.
