We recommend that you visit your GP for a thorough assessment of your thyroid. This is because the test that we provide can be done free of charge by your GP through the NHS. Below is the information that should help empower you to gain a deeper understanding of what you should expect from your GP through the NHS.

You should ask your GP to assess the following markers:

    • TSH – Thyroid Stimulating Hormone

    • Total T4 – Thyroxine

    • Free T4

    • Free T3

    • Thyroid Auto Antibody - Thyroglobulin

    • Thyroid Auto Antibody - Peroxidase

You need to ensure you ask for all of these markers. Conducting a thorough assessment of the thyroid is essential to gaining a complete understanding of how it is functioning overall, and if there are any imbalances where these are originating from.
