What does the Comprehensive Food Allergy Test look for?
This test investigates all of the most common food sensitivity or allergic reactions. It also measures the highly specific marker tissue transglutaminase (tTGA) used for detecting Coeliac Disease.

What are the symptoms associated with food intolerances?

• Diarrhoea
• Constipation
• Bloating
• Nausea/Vomiting
• Excess wind
• Colitis
• IBS
• Frequent infections
• Chronic bladder infections
• Anxiety
• Depression
• Hyperactivity
• Inability to concentrate
• Insomnia
• Fatigue
• Irritability
• Joint and muscle aches
• Eczema
• Itching
• Skin rashes
• Palpitations
• Water retention
• Headaches and migraines
• Hypoglycaemia
• Weight gain
• Rhinitis

Do I need to eat the foods I am sensitive to before doing the test ?
Foods that cause a rapid (immediate) or delayed (upto 72 hours) allergy reaction, (such as hives, itching, swollen lips, throat and tongues) do not need to be eaten before the test. Foods that provoked an intolerance reaction in the past, but have been completely eliminated from the diet for a 6 months period, may no longer cause symptoms if re-introduced. Therefore, these foods can be eaten in small quantities for several weeks leading up to the test to ensure they are not still problematic.

Which tests are included of the Comprehensive Food Allergy Profile?
The profile consists of Genova Diagnostics Europe’s FACTest, IgE Food Allergy Profile and Tissue Transglutaminase. The FACTest assesses an individual for both allergic and non-allergic food reactions, the IgE assesses for acute allergic reactions and the tTGA identifies Coeliac disease.
